Sangeeta Bijlani On Still Being Friends With Former Boyfriend Salman Khan: ‘Dosti Ki Hai, Nibhaani Toh Padegi’
Actress and former beauty queen Sangeeta Bijlani and Salman Khan had been in a very public relationship towards the end of the 1980s and early 90s. They were one of the most famous couples in Bollywood those days. They dated for about a decade but somehow things couldn’t go further.

However, the two have remained on cordial terms and are always appreciative of each other. In a recent interview with Etimes, Sangeeta was asked about her friendship with Salman, and the actress replied to that using Salman’s famous dialogue from Maine Pyaar Kiya, saying, “It’s nice to stay friends with people you’ve known forever. ‘Dosti ki hai… nibhaani toh padegi’.”

Sangeeta was recently seen back on the screen as she made an appearance as a guest judge on the kids’ dance reality show Super Dancer Chapter 4, along with Jackie Shroff. The actress had been away from the screen for over two decades, but coming back on screen didn’t feel alien to her. “Just as when I came to the Super Dancer set, I felt like I had never gone away. That’s how it is — Once an actor, always an actor,” she asserted.

So, having tasted the high of being in front of the camera again, is she now ready to come back on screen for good? “I guess, if something really fantastic comes my way and clicks with my sensibilities... It’s not like I am shut, but again, I haven’t really put myself out there. I am not really looking for work at the moment nor have I been desperate for work at any point,” she responded.

Notably, Sangeeta Bijlani first hit headlines when she won the Miss India Universe title in 1980.
